Another generous donation of Rare Books in the University of Toronto
In the page of the University of Toronto, you can read that Michael and Virgina Walsh donated a large collection of rare and first editions of great western philosophy books to Fisher Rare Books Library. The event was also reported by DailyNous.
It’s not the first time the philanthropic couple donated a rare book collection; they did so in 1999 and 2012. The 1999 donation includes ” the collection, which includes scarce books printed before 1500 and runs to important works of the 20th century. Among them is an edition of Thomas Aquinas’s Summa Theologica published in Padua in 1473 and a rare first edition of David Hume’s Treatise of Human Nature from 1739.” What other rare and priceless editions will be part of this new donation? Their donation, according to the University of Toronto’s note, is an unforgettable contribution to students and researchers.
